Gladys Adell Banks, 67, of Mathews, departed this life on June 29, 2016.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Maryus V. Billups Sr. and Mary N. Billups, and siblings, John, Emerson, Raymond Sr., Bessie Lattimore and Marion Seay.

She leaves to cherish memories, her daughters, Barbara and Janiece Banks; a son, John Banks; siblings, William, Maryus Jr., Ernest Sr., Mary Savage, Annabell Paige, Marjorie Brewton, Frances Perry and Ruther Carter; grandchildren, Keith, James, Reaquel, Raylan, Justin, Ayanna, Marlyce, Jasmine and Aarion, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

A celebration of her life was held at noon Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Rising Valley Baptist Church, 10172 John Clayton Memorial Highway, Gloucester, with the Rev. Darry Echols officiating. A viewing began an hour prior to the service.
