GHS yearbook wins VHSL award

The 2013-2014 edition of the Gloucester High School yearbook, the Cavalier, won a first-place award in the annual Virginia High School League competition for high school yearbooks.

The 2012-2013 Cavalier won a second-place award, and the Cavalier has won first, second or third place in the VHSL competition since 2008, when GHS first began submitting it for review.

The VHSL evaluates and ranks yearbooks using established criteria and does not judge them against other publications in determining its awards.

Members of the 2013-2014 Cavalier staff, working under advisor Patricia Williams Rilee, were editor-in-chief Hannah Beverage, Amanda Bucklew, Lisa DeBaun, Tara Gingues, Rockell Harris, Leah Hazard, Jack Lagonegro, Ryleigh Liston, Latesha Newton, Kelsea Nichols, Caitlin Nowak, Jacob Nunn, Mya Pogue, Mariah Rubbicco, Makenna Wood and Wyatt Weaver.
