The Gloucester High School wrestling team took third place overall in this year’s VHSL Class 5 state wrestling championship tournament, held Saturday at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach.

Several Duke wrestlers placed in their respective weight categories. They include Kenneth Hamilton (175 lbs.), runner-up; Karl Dean (165 lbs.), third place; Aiden Sheesley (126 lbs.), third place; David Lewis (120 lbs.), fourth place; and Jackzel Quinones (106 lbs.), fifth place.

Gloucester’s third-place state win follows its success at the Region 4A wrestling championship tournament, where the Dukes took first overall.
