GHS wrestlers experience a week of winning

After a home win against district opponents Phoebus (58-12), on the Dec. 11, the Gloucester High School wrestling team had a triumphant weekend at a district event.
The Dukes defeated teams from Kecoughtan (60-24), Hampton (66-8), Bethel (60-24) and Denbigh (48-30). Several Dukes finished the event undefeated, including Austin Glockner, who has yet to suffer a loss this season.
Josh Seaton and Ashton Flaherty were two other Gloucester wrestlers who won all three of their bouts. Seaton is currently sitting at an impressive nine wins to one loss on the season. Several other students were able avoid losses during the event, including Ethan Baker who is eight and one.
With these victories, Gloucester is currently undefeated in the district, with seven wins and no losses. The Dukes have a total record of 10-2 on the season. It’s a strong start for the Dukes, who will only hope to continue in their winning ways this week when they travel to both Heritage and Ocean Lakes.
