GHS wrestlers defeat Mathews, Tabb

The Gloucester High School wrestling team improved its season record to 3-1 with wins over Mathews (36-21) and Tabb (39-33) in a tri-meet Saturday at GHS.

Gloucester wrestlers Ashton Flaherty, Angelo Stellon, Ethan Baker, Josh Seaton, Austin Glockner and Douglas Pruim went undefeated on the day. Flaherty, Baker and Glockner improved their season records to 4-0, while Pruim also remains undefeated on the season at 2-0.

Josh Seaton, third-place state finisher in 2020, improved his season record to 3-1 with two pin fall victories. The Dukes’ wrestling program finished up it shortened regular season on Tuesday against York High School, with the 5A Regional championships to be wrestled on Saturday at Green Run High School.


In addition to losing to Gloucester, the Mathews wrestlers fell to Tabb in a close match, 32-30. Joshua Rosadino (8-0 at 113 lbs.), Cody Deagle (7-1 at 138 lbs.) and Tyler Schaller (8-0 at 145 lbs.) all were perfect on the day. Mathews will host the 1...
