GHS track performs well at Ice Breaker

The Gloucester High School track and field team performed well and had several athletes achieve district meet qualifying standards during the Peninsula District Ice Breaker event last weekend at the Boo Williams Sports Complex.

Evan Wagner and Natalia Bueker qualified for the district and regional meets with their marks in the high jump, with Wagner also meeting state competition standards. Adrian Garcia and Da’rontae Carter met the district mark in the 1000 meter dash and Kevin Speray and Tyler Price qualified for the district meet in the mile race.

Olivia Cross and Alex Londenberg qualified for the district meet in the two-mile event and Haley Lucas qualified in the shot put. The Dukes look to increase their number of post-season qualifiers in a district quad meet next week.
