GHS track gets off to good start at Conn-Madden Relays

The Gloucester High School outdoor track and field teams got off to a good start to the season with their performances at the Conn-Madden Relays Saturday in Newport News. 

The varsity girls 3200 relay team of Katherine Saunders, Alyssa Lass, Cara O’Beirne and Makala White was second in 10:31.58. The varsity girls’ 1600 sprint medley team of Dayannha Curry, Kate Neikirk, Desiree Walker and Lass took third place in 4:36.51. 

Also for the varsity girls, the 400 relay team was sixth in 55.25, the 200 relay team was eighth in 2:03.64, and the 1600 relay team was sixth in 4:29.49.

For the varsity boys, the 3200 relay team of Colton Spence, Tariq Gregory, Mikey Toms and Luke Waters was third in 9:10.98. In the shot put, Kiyou Gary and Julian Hogge were third and Joseph Conroy was fourth.
