GHS theater ensemble places fourth in state

The Gloucester High School one act play ensemble that traveled to Charlottesville last weekend for the VHSL Group 5A One Act Championship placed fourth in the competition. 

Performing the play “One Lane Bridge,” the ensemble took first place in the Conference 10 competition and was first in the 5A South Regional event.

“The students had an amazing run to States,” said GHS theater instructor Clint Alexander. “It was a first for GHS to get first at district and first at regionals.” 

“We placed fourth in the state overall and I am proud of them! They worked hard since October 2016, and it proved that they as an ensemble are capable of true and great performance.” 

Stone Bridge High School in Highland Springs took first place in the state competition, Stafford High School was second and Salem High School was third. ...
