GHS students take part in FBLA conference

Members of the Gloucester High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the FBLA Colonial Region Spring Conference on March 5 at the Workforce Development Center in Hampton. 

During the conference, GHS junior Brittany Smith was elected as the new regional president and state vice president representing the Colonial Region. She takes over from GHS senior Tara Purdy, who received a plaque recognizing her service as regional president and state vice president for the 2015-2016 school session.

In competitions during the conference, Cynthia Gibson and Smith placed first in website development. Michael Chaffin, Justin Simmons and Khaliek Brown-Ward were third in marketing and Maverick Garcia was fifth in introduction to financial math. 

Also representing GHS at the conference was Brianna Miller, who serves as regional secretary. ...
