GHS students make and sell promotional material

When members of the YMCA’s Northern Neck Stripers Masters Swim Team needed to imprint gear with their logo, they reached out to a special group of students at Gloucester High School.

The high school’s program All Things Vinyl is operated by students with disabilities who make, market and sell vinyl application for almost any product. While T-shirts are the most frequently requested items, said a press release, the students have applied vinyl to tumblers, cooler bags and car decals, as well. The students provide the application service for various clubs and organizations at their school as well as for individuals outside of GHS.

The program gives the students a simulated work environment so they can practice workplace skills such as meeting deadlines, working with customers, attending to a task, working diligently, and producing a product, said the release. The students take pride in seeing their products being worn and displayed.
