Makayla Calloway, a sophomore at Gloucester High School, was crowned
International Junior Miss Virginia Teen 2020 on Jan. 5 at the
competition site in Woodbridge.
Calloway will advance to the International Junior Miss 2020 pageant
this summer, from June 29-July 4 in Texas where she will compete with
other teens from around the world.
“They were actually really nice people,” said Calloway about her
first pageant experience. “It was a really great opportunity to make
friends and build confidence in myself.”
International Junior Miss pageants have a junior division and a
senior division. The junior division has the Jr. Princess (ages 4-6),
Princess (ages 7-9) and Pre-Teen (ages 10-12) competitions. Calloway
competed in the senior division in the Teen competition (ages 16-18).
Other competitions in the senior division include, Jr. Teen (ages
13-15), Miss (ages 19-24) and Ms. (ages 21-45).
The pageants have three stages: Fun Fashion, Interview, and Evening
