Boys pick up two wins

by Luke Ferreira

The Gloucester varsity boys added two more wins to their soccer record in recent action, including a 4-1 victory over Bethel on Tuesday. The Dukes had many opportunities, with Jordan Sindle getting a hat trick and a goal by P.J. LeBel.

Gloucester lost to Warwick, 5-1, in the conference tournament last year but turned that score around with a 5-1 win over the Raiders last week. LeBel, Sindle and Cameron Thompson all hit the net for the Dukes.

The junior varsity Dukes added two shutout wins to their record with their victories over Bethel and Warwick. Playing at Bethel, Gloucester netted five goals in their shutout of the Bruins. Yedam Yang, Chris Morrison, Isaiah Lester and Xander Howe each scored with a fifth own-goal added by the Bethel defense.

The Gloucester jayvees beat Warwick last week in a 4-0 match, with goals from Yang, Luke Ferreira and Andrew Coxe.
