GHS soccer teams crush Crabbers

The Gloucester girls’ soccer team traveled to Hampton on Tuesday night and left with a win, beating the Crabbers 9-1. Leading the Lady Dukes; offense in scoring was Caroline Merchant, who recorded four goals.

Hanna Heaton was close behind with a hat trick. Caitlyn Shelton also scored a goal, and the Crabbers also accidentally scored a goal on themselves.

Aubree Dorsey led the Lady Dukes in assists by recording three. Brooke Holloman, Hanna Merchant and Mara Collier had one assist each. Gloucester rotated its goalie during the game. Starting goalie Julie Trist wasn’t challenged and recorded no saves. Alexis Adams played in the second half, and recorded one save.

The boys’ soccer team also left Hampton with a win, shutting out the Crabbers with a score of 5-0.
