GHS soccer teams beat Woodside

The spring season is underway for the Gloucester High School varsity soccer teams. The girls and boys traveled to Woodside last Thursday, each notching shutout wins over the Wolverines. On Tuesday, the girls continued their hot start with a win over Heritage.

The boys had similar success against Woodside. Gloucester five goals were scored by Frank Kennedy, Bobby Cox, Kohlby Wilson, Kaden Williams and Cayden Brumm. Kennedy, Cox and Brumm along with A.J. Goller recorded assets. Goalie Riley Jaquysh made four saves.

“Gloucester Dukes got on the scoresheet in 30 seconds with a goal from freshman Kohlby Wilson,” said coach Craig Raines, “The Dukes controlled most of the game. Great first game to build some momentum off of.”

The Dukes will hope to build off the hot start when they travel to Menchville on Thursday. The boys’ game was canceled on Tuesday against Heritage.
