GHS soccer has busy week

The Lady Dukes shut out Bruton, 3-0, Wednesday, April 15, on Gloucester High School’s home field. Goals were scored by Alina Laubacker, Ava Santellanes, and Aubrey Milawski, with assists by Rylee Amaral and Emerson Dutton. The girls traveled for their match on Tuesday night, losing to Poquoson, 4-0. Boys’ varsity The Dukes traveled to play against Bruton on April 15, winning the match, 1-0. The goal, an own goal off Bruton, occurred in the second half of the game. On Friday, the boys played at home against Hickory High in a match that ended in a 3-3 tie, when no goals were scored during double overtime. Goals were scored for GHS twice by Marek Barret with a penalty kick, and once by Corey Skay, with an assist by Mason Schmidt. “GHS moves to four wins, three ties and zero losses on the season,” coach Peter Lebel said.
