GHS runners sweep Heritage

The Gloucester High School cross country teams marked their last home meet on Oct. 8 with wins at Beaverdam Park over Heritage. Senior harriers Alex Morales, Aaron Waters and Chris Early were recognized for their years of running for GHS.

Freshman Megan McGee once again led the GHS girls, winning the race in 22:19. Finishing second through seventh were Dukes Lauren Hill in 22:44, Mia Robinson in 23:03, Maddy Hogge in 23:14, Chasity Lass in 23:17, MacKenzie Marbain in 23:26 and Alissa Adickes in 23:29 (a new personal record). 

Lass, an eighth grader, led the junior varsity girls and was followed by Kaylyn Berg at second in 26:14, Lindsay Rudisill at third with a personal record time of 26:19, Samantha Sigmon at fourth with a personal record time of 26:53, and Brooke Cheatham at fifth with a personal record time of 19:15.
