GHS runners have strong performance

Gloucester High School cross country runners had good performances and set several personal records in the Al Dorner Newport News Cross Country Meet on Saturday.

The Dukes were second overall in the girls’ varsity B race, paced by Megan McGee at eighth overall in 21:57. Chasity Lass was 15th overall in 22:49 and was followed by teammates Gibson Hylton, Ali Adickes, Kaylynn Glockner, Ruby Williams, Lauren Hill and Rachael Ferreira.

Gloucester was also second overall in the girls’ C race, led by Brooke Cheatham in 11th place in 24:03. Allison Kladler was 12th in 24:14 and Laura Tobin was 15th in 24:40. Lindsey Rudisill, Erin Bristow, Bryanna Carter and Macy Calder followed for the Dukes.

The GHS harriers were second overall in the boys’ B race, led by Aaron Shipe who placed third and Michael Chaffin at fourth with times of 18:06 and 18:17, respectively. They were followed by Chase Holland, David Sadikov, Logan Touchstone, Joseph Lineberry and Andrew Wible. In the C r...
