GHS runners defeat Denbigh

The Gloucester High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams won over the host Denbigh harriers on Oct. 12. In the boys’ race, seven Dukes finished ahead of the first Patriot, paced by race winner Tyler Price who finished the 5K course in 17:37.

Price was followed by teammates Kevin Speray in 17:38, Cameron Cross in 17:46, Blake Waters in 18:01, Logan Pitchford in 18:15 and Adrian Garcia and Eric Speray in 18:39.

The younger Lady Dukes stepped up and performed well in the absence of two senior captains, placing their top seven runners in the first eight across the finish line. They were led by eighth grader Madison Hogge who took the race in 22:35, though her win was not included in the point total due to her age.
