GHS renovation project to begin next month

Charles Records, construction/project coordinator for GCPS, is gearing up for the first phase of the Gloucester High School renovation project, which is slated to begin next month.

The first phase will include the construction of a new administration office, security vestibule and guidance office. Half of ‘A’ Hall will also be under construction during this first phase. The second phase will include finishing ‘A’ Hall, making modifications to the media center and creating an extended learning area.

A total of 11 classrooms will be displaced in the first phase of the project. Students will be relocated to modulars while their classrooms are being renovated. A capacity of 30 temporary classrooms will be available for student and staff use by this fall.In the first summer of the project, the gym and auxiliary gym will be updated.
