The Gloucester High School Renaissance Leadership class sent four students and three staff members to the Jostens Renaissance Global Conference in San Diego, California, from June 26-July 1. During an awards gala at the conference, GHS was formally recognized as a Jostens Renaissance Platinum School of Distinction.
Out of 9,000 Jostens Renaissance schools, only 55 earned this honor in 2025. To attain the platinum distinction, schools must demonstrate a data-based program that is both collaborative and innovative, focus on a commitment to graduation and recognize staff and student successes, while also giving back to the community.
According to Renaissance teacher Beth Coleman, discipline referrals have drastically decreased while attendance and graduation rates have improved since Renaissance was first introduced to GHS two years ago.
