Gloucester High School received the delivery of a Yamaha C7 Conservatory Series concert piano from Parker Piano in Williamsburg on Feb. 5.

The acquisition of this instrument was made possible through the Hampton Roads Community Foundation via the E.K. Sloane Piano Fund.

After numerous submissions from the Hampton Roads area, GHS was chosen to be a recipient of this grant for being committed to promoting music and fine arts within the school and community. GHS was one of a few schools in the Hampton Roads area to receive this grant last December.

Since the end of the 2022-2023 school year, GHS has been working diligently on a way to replace its old concert piano that has been used as the daily instrument for choral classes, as well as performances.

This new piano will allow GHS to provide a quality instrument for school-based performances within its fine arts departments, along with hosting local and guest musicians throughout the region. This model of piano can be found us...
