GHS naval cadets spend day with Rep. Wittman

Three Gloucester High School NJROTC cadets and their instructor toured the U.S. Capitol and spent some time with their congressman thanks to a generous legislator and a Ducks Unlimited auction.

Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Montross) donated a day trip to D.C. with a tour of the Capitol and lunch with him to the DU fundraiser. Tom Phillips won the offering but could not go, so he donated the trip to his daughter, Jamie Phillips, to share with her ROTC program. Cadet Phillips chose fellow cadet Ali Beams and GHS cadet commanding officer Lauren Phelps to accompany her along with naval science instructor Al Grant.

After arriving at the Capitol, the four GHS representatives were taken to Wittman’s office where Beams said they found his staff to be very friendly and welcoming.
