GHS, MHS to hold homecoming Oct. 17

Both Gloucester and Mathews high schools will celebrate their 2014 homecomings on Friday, Oct. 17.

GHS Homecoming

In Gloucester, the homecoming parade down Main Street will start at 4:45 p.m. at Newington Baptist Church and end by 6:45 at Main Street Center. 

Gloucester will take on the Hampton Crabbers in the homecoming football game at 7 p.m. in the GHS stadium and the coronation of the homecoming court will take place during halftime. The homecoming dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the school.

For those interested in entering a float in the parade, entry forms are available on the GHS website.

MHS Homecoming

In Mathews, the parade will begin at 4 p.m., starting at Thomas Hunter Middle School, down Main Street, ending at Mathews High School. At 7 o’clock, the Blue Devils will host the King William Cavaliers. The homecoming court will be presented at halftime with the homecoming queen and king to be crowned.
