GHS, MHS to celebrate homecoming

Gloucester and Mathews High Schools will celebrate Homecoming 2015 with parades and football games this week.

In Gloucester, the homecoming parade down Main Street begins at 5:15 this evening and will last until about 6:45. Main Street will begin closing for the procession at about 5 p.m., according to the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office.

The varsity Dukes will play their homecoming football game with Menchville at 7 p.m. Friday. The coronation of the homecoming court and the crowning of the king and queen will be held at halftime.

In Mathews, the homecoming parade will begin at 4 p.m. Friday and travel from Thomas Hunter Middle School through the Court House to MHS.

The varsity Blue Devils will take on King and Queen in the homecoming football game at 7 p.m. Friday. At halftime, the homecoming court will be presented and the king and queen will be crowned. ...
