The Gloucester High School junior varsity field hockey team improved to 3-0 with a seven-goal shutout of Maury last Thursday and a 19-0 blanking of Northumberland on Tuesday.
Over three games, the junior Dukes have tallied 34 goals while allowing none. They have taken 109 shots on goal and earned 22 penalty corners, and all three of their wins were in games shortened by the mercy rule.
Megan Crowley and Christina Riva lead the team offensively with six goals each. Aubree Dorsey has three, seven players have scored twice and five have scored once. Crowley leads the team in assists with 10.
“The team has played extremely well with their pressure offense type of system,” said coach Joe Dougherty. “Play has been earned and shared among all of the players for each game. Their chemistry is evident on the field with ball movement and positive motivation.
