GHS JV boys’ soccer is 4-0

The Gloucester High School junior varsity boys’ soccer team is off to a 4-0 start on the spring season.

The JV Dukes beat Grafton, 5-2, at GHS on March 5 before a string of wins over three days. The Dukes topped home standing York, 3-1, on March 26, bested Bethel, 4-1, on March 27 at GHS and shutout Poquoson, 3-0, on the Islanders’ field on March 28.

GHS sophomore Jack Ronan leads the team in scoring with six goals and sophomores Bobby Cox and Cameron Bishop have tallied four and three goals, respectively. Eighth grader Cayden Brumm and sophomore Jose Ruiz have each scored once.

The junior Dukes are comprised of 14 sophomores and eight eighth graders this spring. The team is coached by Pete LeBel, assisted by Brett Major. The GHS jayvees are scheduled to play at Menchville Tuesday before hosting West Point on April 13. ...
