GHS jayvees get shutout win over Menchville

Gloucester High School junior varsity football team notched its first win of the season Monday with a 27-0 shutout of visiting Menchville, and Gloucester head JV coach Ryan Wenner could not have been happier with his team’s performance.

"Fantastic. I was just happy to see them come out and play that well. We had a good first week and then a bad second week, and this week they decided to come out and play together as a group," he said.

"We got off to a slow start but they got the nerves out. Ridge (Motley) blocked a field goal and Chris Lee returned it 60 yards to get our offense going," Wenner continued. Quarterback Caleb Smith ultimately ran the ball in for Gloucester’s first touchdown of the night.
