GHS hosts indoor track invitational

Gloucester High School hosted the fourth annual GHS Pre-Holiday Track and Field Invitational Friday and Saturday, drawing 43 teams and over 1,300 athletes to the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton.

For Gloucester, Mia Robinson was third in the pole vault and earned a regional meet bid with a vault of 8’6”. In the junior varsity events, Ruby Williams was fifth in the 55-meter dash in 8.32 and Lydia Hart, Brooke Cheatham, Williams and Katherine Saunders were second in the 1600 meter relay in 4:56.54. The 3,200m relay team also placed second. Alyssa Lass was third in the 1,600m run in 6:23. 

Emma Cirillo won the shot put with a 17’11.25” throw, Isabella Paige was second with 17’02.50” and Celeste Barber was third with 16’10.5”.

For the boys, varsity runner Justin Garcia was second in the 500 meter dash in 1:09.68. In the JV events, Aaron Shipe was second in the 1,600m run in 5:08.26 and Colton Spence was third in 5:43.54. Shipe, Luke...
