The Gloucester High School homecoming parade will step off this evening, Thursday, Oct. 2, from Main Street Center at 5:15, traveling along Main Street until it reaches Botetourt Elementary School.
GHS custodial foreman Khyre Jones, a native of Gloucester, will serve as this year’s grand marshal. Jones has been a staff member of GHS for nearly a decade and graduated from the school in 2011.
On Friday, the GHS varsity football team will face the Bruton Panthers, beginning at 7 p.m. Before the game, both GHS and community groups will participate in the school’s homecoming tailgate on the field hockey practice field. There will be music, food and games.
During halftime, the GHS Marching Dukes will perform and this year’s Duke and Duchess will be crowned.
On Saturday night, a dance will be held for students in the GHS gym from 7-10. The theme is “A Night in Greece.”...
