GHS harriers compete in Newport News meet

The Gloucester High School cross country teams competed at the Peninsula District Meet #4 last Wednesday at Newport News Park. The teams placed well during the meet with the girls taking first overall with a score of 37 points with an average 5K time of 24:03 and the boys placed third with 91 points who had an average 5K time of 20:22.

In the top 10 overall for the girls’ team were Rachel Blittle who placed fifth with a time of 23:08.33, Mackenzie Alcorn placed sixth with a time of 23:10.90, Hannah Broadwell placed ninth with a time of 24:26.72 and Sarah Bullins placed 10th with a time of 24:26.86. Also crossing the finish line for the Dukes were Zoe Scott (25:05.41), Olivia Gray (25:41.84), Hailee Jorgensen (25:43.79), Hannah Ridings (27:32.07), Michelle Field (27:59.34), Melanie Mueller (28:00.27), Lacey Donnelly (28:02.09), Chelsea Shield (28:02.64), Kandalyn Baxley (28:16.23), Stella Scott (28:18.03), Camille Reyes (29:12.05), Kaitlyn Parker (35:07.79), and Alexandra Byser (35:22.25).

Placing in the top 10 for the boys’ team was Aiden Pincince who came in fifth with a time of 18:29.28. Coming in behind him for the Dukes were Joel Taylor (19:39.48), Cesar Gomez (19:47.01), Greyson Clements (20:39.60), Lincoln Alcorn (23:28.95), Braylin Johnson (23:28.95), Logan McAllister (24:06.21), Ryker Jordan (25:03.88), Riley Rowe (27:41.85), Isaac Torres (27:50.47), and Jason Coleman (29:24.12).
