GHS Hall of Fame induction to be held Sept. 20

Gloucester High School will induct several new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 20. 

The inductees will be welcomed with a public reception at 5:30 p.m. in the GHS Duke Rock Café and the induction will take place during halftime of the home football game with Menchville. The game begins at 7 o’clock. 

This year’s inductees include Joey Burney, a 2010 graduate who was a baseball player at GHS and at Old Dominion University and Chelsea Weber Snowden, a GHS soccer and field hockey player and a soccer coach. 

Inductees also include the late Michael J. Haury, a football player and role model at GHS, and the 1988 GHS State Champion Golf Team. 

The championship golf team included Chris DuPaul, the late Chris Denton, Brian Sterling, Tommy Healy, Stephen Smith, Robert Teagle, Rob Baldwin, Mark South, Randy Martin, Steelman Ketchum, Chad Williams, Joe Sibley and coach Jerry Morgan. ...
