GHS grads receive $584,975 in local scholarships

Students from Gloucester High School’s newest graduating class received a total of $584,975 worth of scholarships earlier this month from local organizations. Recipients and their scholarships include the following. Landen Abelar—Petsworth Elementary School Scholarship, $500; Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies for Education Scholarship, $1,000; Gloucester County Educational Foundation Dr. Jean Elizabeth Pugh Scholarship ($1,000 renewable four times), $4,000. Noelle Anderson—Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Scholarships (Marine Option), $300,000; GHS NJROTC Scholarship, $500. Stephan Arnold II—Gloucester Extension Master Gardeners Scholarship, $1,000. Joseph Bachert—Rappahannock Community College The Leslie and Loretta Hinton Educational Fund, $1,000.
