GHS grads receive $193,700 in local scholarships

Students from Gloucester High School’s newest graduating class received a total of $193,700 worth of scholarships last month from local organizations. Recipients and their scholarships include the following:
MacKenzie Alcorn—P.E.O. Chapter CA Scholarship, $500.
Gavyn Altman—Rappahannock Community College Dr. Dorothy Cosby Cooke Scholarship Endowment, $1,000.
Michael Asnicar—Guinea Heritage Association Kenneth A. Hall Memorial Scholarship, $5,000; and York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons (In Memory of Joe Pointer) Scholarship, $1,000.
William Baker—Gloucester Extension Master Gardeners Scholarship, $1,000; York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons Scholarship, $1,000; and Gloucester High School NJROTC Scholarship (Gloucester American Legion Post 75), $1,500;
Christian Beach—RCC Dr. Dorothy Cosby Cooke Scholarship Endowment, $500.
Adison Belor—Abingdon Elementary School Scholarship, $500.
