GHS grad part of NCAA tournament team

Christopher Morgan, a Gloucester High School graduate, was scheduled to join his College of the Holy Cross teammates at the NCAA Basketball Tournament yesterday in Dayton, Ohio. 

Morgan, a 6’7” senior forward for the Holy Cross Crusaders, has not played this season due to an injury, and will not take the floor as the Crusaders face Southern University. He played in 27 games last season and made a team best 66 percent of his field goal attempts. 

The trip to Dayton marks the first time Holy Cross has appeared in the NCAA tournament in nine years. 

The Crusaders (14-19) beat second seeded Lehigh 59-56 on March 9 to win the Patriot League Championship. At number nine, the Crusaders became the lowest seeded team to win the PL Tournament. They knocked off top seeded Bucknell 77-72 in double overtime in the tournament quarterfinals.
