GHS golfers cruise to Conference 10 title

Gloucester High School golfers cruised to the Conference 10 Championship with two great days of golf last Thursday and Friday at The Hamptons.

Gloucester’s Hunter Martin was the tournament medalist with a two-day score of 158 and teammate Cameron Baker was the silver medalist, shooting a 160.

The Dukes finished the first-day rounds with a 44-stroke advantage over the nearest competitors from Warwick. Gloucester turned in a team score of 320, followed by the Raiders with 364 and Nansemond River with 376.

Martin led his team with a 78 on day one, followed by Baker with a 79, Nathan Gross with 81, Trent Green with 82, Davey Grimm with 87 and Grady Baker with 89. All six golfers finished in the top 10 for the day.

On Friday, the Dukes stretched their lead to 66 strokes with a team score of 332. Martin again led the team with a score of 80, C. Baker followed with 81, Gross had 84, Green posted an 87, Grimm shot 88 and G. Baker had 92.
