GHS golfers continue to sweep match schedule

The Gloucester High School golf team continued its sweep of the match schedule with a win at the Deer Run Golf Course in Newport News last Thursday.

The Dukes had 338 strokes on the day, followed by Menchville with 354, Woodside with 383 and Kecoughtan with 387. Gloucester now has a 57 stroke lead over the Monarchs. Menchville golfer Amanda Kelley was the medalist with a 78 on the par 72 course.  Skyler Blowe led the Dukes with an 81, followed by Cameron Baker with 84, David Grimm with 86 and Hunter Martin with 87. Also on the links for Gloucester were Trent Green and Grady Baker, who shot 91 and 102, respectively. 

GHS has three golfers with averages in the top 10 among the field. Baker is third with an average of 84.25, Grimm is seventh with 87.75 and Blowe is 10th with 94.75.

The teams are scheduled to play at The Woodlands Golf Course in Hampton today. ...
