GHS golfers complete sweep of district schedule

Gloucester High School golfers completed their sweep of the Peninsula District schedule with wins at The Woodlands last week and at The Hamptons on Monday.

In final team standings, Gloucester tallied 2,241 strokes over seven matches, followed by Warwick with 2,452, Menchville with 2,670, Woodside with 2,913 and Bethel with 2,954.

The Dukes outplayed all of their competing teams by at least 53 strokes at The Woodlands last Thursday, paced by a 73-stroke medalist performance by Cameron Baker. Davey Grimm shot a 76 for Gloucester, Hunter Martin had a 78 and Nathan Gross had an 81. The Dukes had a team score of 309, followed by Menchville with 362 and Warwick with 367.

Closing out the regular season Monday at The Hamptons, Gloucester was led by Gross with a 73. Baker shot 76, Trent Green turned in a 77 and Martin had an 81. The Dukes had a team score of 307, followed by Warwick with 323, Menchville with 360 and Woodside with 387.
