GHS golfers atop district standings

 

Four matches into the season, Gloucester High School golfers remain at the top of the Peninsula District. Led by three-time medalist Jeremy Carr, a senior, and freshman Camden Richardson, the Dukes have won three matches and were second in their fourth. 

Gloucester finished three shots behind Warwick at Deer Run in Newport News on Tuesday. Warwick led the field with a team score of 396, followed by the Dukes at 399, Hampton with 407 and Kecoughtan with 419.

A Woodside player was the medalist with a score of 80, followed by a Hampton golfer with 84 and Carr was third overall with an 89. Richardson finished sixth overall at 96. 

Playing at Sewells Point in Norfolk last week, the Dukes led the field with a team score of 383, followed by second-place Warwick with 420.
