GHS girls win Peninsula District XC Meet

The Gloucester High School girls’ cross country team won and the boys placed third in the Peninsula District XC Meet on Oct. 19 at Newport News Park.

The girls scored 31 points led by Megan McGee at second in 21:26. Alyssa Lass was fifth in 21:48, Ali Adickes was seventh in 22:04, Ruby Williams was eighth in 22:26, Katie Saunders was ninth in 22:29, Makala White was 10th in 22:46 and Gibson Hylton was 13th in 23:07. The girls’ regular season record was 4-1.

Gloucester’s Joshua Shackelford won the race in 16:10 to stay undefeated in the regular season. Aaron Shipe was seventh in 18:40, Andrew Wible 11th in 19:03 and Colton Spence, Christopher Potter, Justin Burgess and Joey Warner rounded out the top seven for the Dukes.
