GHS girls tie Grafton, Tabb in soccer

The Gloucester High School varsity girls’ soccer team posted a pair of 1-1 ties in recent scrimmages with Grafton and Tabb. 

The Dukes played Grafton on March 1 and were down 1-0 after the Clippers benefited from a Gloucester own-goal by its defenders. The Dukes came back later when sophomore Alyssa Fulford put the ball in the back of the net for the tie. Neither team scored in the time remaining.

Last Thursday, Fulford at forward scored the first goal of the game with Tabb on a long-range kick out of the keeper’s reach. The Tigers tied up the match with a penalty kick after a Gloucester foul inside the 18-yard box. 

Gloucester is scheduled to play Bishop Sullivan and Poquoson away this week in the annual Garvey Tournament.  ...
