GHS girls shut out Heritage, 9-0

The Gloucester High School varsity girls’ soccer team posted a nine-goal shutout over Heritage on Friday. Mary Williams scored first for the Dukes on a breakaway, Maegan Beck scored on another breakaway and Delaney Doyle found the back of the net. Williams scored twice more for a hat trick before the half.

Beck and Doyle notched their second goals of the match and Marianne Warrington hit the net to make it 8-0 at the break. In the second half, Carrie Adams sent a beautiful cross to the backside post where Lauren Orga was waiting to head it into the net for the 9-0 score.
The Gloucester girls are scheduled to host Grafton in a non-district match on Tuesday.
