GHS girls improve to 11-0

In another mercy rule game, the Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team blanked host Warwick, 8-0, on Tuesday. The Dukes dominated the game in the circle and in the midfield.

Gloucester scored three goals in the first quarter and two more in the second for a 5-0 lead at halftime. The team tallied three more goals in the third quarter to close out scoring.

Channy Johnson had a hat trick in the win to bring her season total to 19 goals. Alexis Adams added two goals and Aubree Dorsey, Reese Miller and Lily Perger chipped in one each. The defense was stout again behind the leadership of Avery Watkins, Leigha Germain, Aura Griggs, Kailee Morris and Adams.

The Dukes outshot the Raiders, 29-1, and earned 17 penalty corners while allowing only one. Overall, Gloucester has taken 304 shots on goal while allowing only six. The Dukes have earned 159 penalty corners and allowed their opponents only 10 and have outscored their opposing teams, 63-1.
