GHS girls beat Heritage tennis, 8-1

The Gloucester High School girls’ tennis team defeated the visiting Heritage Hurricanes, 8-1.

In singles play, the GHS girls’ top seed Skylar Tenan, second seed Meadow Spears, third seed Gracie King and fourth seed Tatum Foster all won their matches, with Tenan beating E. Floyd, 6-0, 6-1; Spears defeated K. Alexander, 7-5, 6-1; King bested L. Council, 6-2, 6-0 and Foster won, 6-1, 6-0 over N. Brewington.

In doubles play, the top-seeded team of Tenan and Spears suffered the Lady Dukes’ only defeat, falling to Floyd and Alexander, 8-6. Also in doubles play, King and Foster beat Council and Brewington, 8-0.

The GHS girls were scheduled to travel to Menchville tonight and Phoebus on Monday.
