The Gloucester High School Future Problem Solvers team placed first in the Virginia State Bowl in March and will travel to Indiana to compete with teams around the world in the Future Problem Solving World Finals next month. This is the second year the team has won the competition and has qualified to compete in the world finals.
The team is comprised of sophomores Alexis Chattin, Madelyn Micket, Lexi Spangler and Ashlee VanVranken. They are currently seeking community support to help cover the cost of registration, lodging and travel for the five-day international event.
Donations can be delivered to GHS or Peasley Middle School or mailed to LeeAnn VanVranken, team coach, at 2885 Hickory Fork Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Checks should be made out to GHS with “FPS donation” written in the memo line. Donations are tax deductible.
