GHS field hockey team remains undefeated

The Gloucester High School varsity girls added three more wins to their undefeated field hockey record in recent play, with victories over Warwick, Hampton and Menchville. 

The Dukes blanked their hosts at Menchville, 5-0, on Tuesday after a slow start. Cassidy Goodwin had two goals in the win and goals came from Brittany Romero, Maddie Hutson and Tori Harwood. Goodwin also contributed two assists and Ashley Bohi had one. 

“We always struggle when we go to Menchville and yesterday was no different,” said Gloucester coach Mike Miller. “It took us awhile to get going. We didn’t do a good job of moving the ball or executing. We just weren’t sharp and there were a lot of mental errors.” 

On Monday the Dukes went to Hampton for a previously rained out game and came home with a 12-goal shutout. “I gave everybody lots of playing time. They did a good job of passing the ball around and getting everyone involved,” Miller said.&nb...
