GHS field hockey suffers first season loss

It was a win and a loss for Gloucester High School field hockey players in recent Conference 10 action. The Dukes beat visiting Indian River, 13-0, in their Pink Out game last Thursday but sustained their first loss of the season, 2-1, in overtime at Hickory on Monday.

Senior Tori Harwood and sophomore Cheyenne Hollandsworth led the scoring fest against Indian River with three goals each while senior Ashley Bohi and junior Cassidy Goodwin had two goals apiece. Bri Greene, Kenzie Hodge and Maddie Hutson also scored.

Brittany Romero and Goodwin had three scoring assists each and assists were credited to Sam West, Sarah Marks, Montanna Durham and Hutson.

“I expected a little more difficulty playing them,” said Gloucester coach Mike Miller.
