GHS field hockey shuts out Crabbers, 14-0

After wins against Kecoughtan and Phoebus, the Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team traveled to Hampton Tuesday and returned victorious, beating the Crabbers, 14-0.

The win marks the halfway point of the Lady Dukes’ six-game season. Head coach Mike Miller said that he feels bad for the students having to have a shortened season, especially his seniors.

“It’s not what any of us expected and they haven’t gotten to experience a full season as their last,” said Miller. “However, there is very little complaining and we are pushing forward to control what we can control. We have started out 3-0 and I’m super excited, and proud, of all of my team and how hard they have competed.”The Dukes will hope to build on their winning streak when they travel to Menchville on Friday.
