Gloucester High School varsity field hockey players opened their 2017 season by taking on Atlee yesterday at the Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex. The Dukes have their first home game at 4 p.m. Friday when they take on Salem at GHS.

The team is also scheduled to face Washington and Lee at 4 p.m. Saturday at the National Field Hockey Training Center in Virginia Beach and return home next Wednesday, Aug. 30, to play Granby at 4 p.m. 

Veteran head coach Mike Miller returns this season, again assisted by coach Anne Winter. Miller has only four seniors this season but expects a strong showing from his young team.  ...
