GHS field hockey notches two shutout victories

The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team improved to 7-0 with an 11-0 win over visiting Heritage last Thursday and a 6-0 win over Lafayette on the Astroturf at the College of William and Mary on Saturday.

Sophomore Kessa Romero had three goals and an assist against Lafayette and Taylor Green, Cheyenne Hollandsworth and Karly Harwood scored. Harwood also had a pair of assists. 

Three of the goals came on corners and involved multiple assists. Molly Vaughan, Allison Goodwin. Green also had two assists and Carli Walke was credited with an assist.

“That was probably our most complete game of the year,” said GHS coach Mike Miller. “We were able to open it up and work on our passing game.”
