Xavier Washington broke through the Bruins coverage in the first quarter, scoring the Dukes’ first touchdown of the night.
The Gloucester High School varsity football team ended its season Friday, falling to the visiting Bethel Bruins, 29-18. Gloucester managed to play only two games during the abbreviated season, finishing with a record of 1-1.
“It definitely didn’t end the way we wanted,” head coach John Scalf said. “Still, the seniors played their hearts out but at the end of the day Bethel was just a little better than we were that night. This staff will truly miss those guys. A group of young men who did their best to make this season memorable.”
